Project: Simons Yard, off Allenby Estate.

Brief: Hardcore yard used for storage of site cabins had become a hazard and economic liability. The ground was unstable especially in the wet and represented a real hazard for the heavyweight forklift used to move the cabins; one unit had already tipped off the forks and been written off.

We quoted to remediate their yard material with SMR, grade and compact the ground, finally topping off with graded road planings.

Process:

	Step 1. Roughly clear ground. Only significantly large concrete lumps need removing.
	Step 2. Load up and spread measured quantity of SMR (soil stabiliser). SMR supplied in 1-ton bags.
	Step 3. Grind to a depth of 200mm and mix SMR material. Single pass depths of up to 300mm can be achieved.
	Step 4. Level processed material.
	Step 5. Compact material to initiate remediation process. Material is 80% hard within 2 hours of compaction and 100% within 24 hours.
	Step 6. Spread and compact wear course material.
	Step 7. 24hrs after compaction Yard Complete ready to operate on.
